During the last couple of months I developed a series of illustrations featuring Manchester United players in their home kit.
It started from this season's jersey which I consider to have one of the best designs this club has ever featured. The red jersey and the black shorts - switching colors through different line widths - are really evoking the club's spirit. I always loved the red/black combo.
A single custom-made Photoshop brush was used, in a minimal color palette while making good use of the negative space. I tried a dynamic style in a traditional manner, with fast-paced brush strokes and speed lines for a grunge and devilish aesthetic.
I picked 6 players that, somehow, made an impact this year. Some in a good way, some in other ways. It's not a season to remember, but at least the home kit was great.
